Train to Busan (2016) - Movie Review

Train to Busan (2016) - Movie Review

Do you like zombie movies? Are you interested in movies that are not only scary but also emotional? Then Train to Busan (2016) is a movie you should definitely watch. It is a zombie thriller that has a great mix of suspense, action, and emotion.

The story revolves around a businessman, Sook-woo (Gong Yoo) and his daughter, Su-an (Kim Su-an), who are traveling to Busan by train. Suddenly, a zombie virus spreads, and people on the train get infected by the virus. Now, Sook-woo and Su-an have to save their lives, but a fierce struggle begins on the train itself. Will they be able to survive? The answer to this question is hidden throughout the film.

Gong Yoo has played the role of Sook-woo brilliantly, who is a tough and hardworking man, but his true nature is revealed amidst the circumstances. Kim Su-an plays the character of Su-an, who adds an emotional element to the film. Also, Ma Dong-seok (the guy who works hard and always helps others) has given a wonderful performance in the film. All of them have done a great job in their roles.

The film is directed by Yeon San-ho, and he has made the film full of suspense, fear and emotion. The zombie attack feels very dangerous and scary in the tight and closed environment inside the train. The cinematography is also great, where the darkness inside the train and the view outside are shown in a great way.

You can watch Train to Busan on streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The film is originally made in Korean language, but its subtitles are available in Hindi and other languages. There is no second part of this film, but a prequel (Peninsula) has been made after the success of the film.

The writing of the story is very deep and thoughtful. Despite being a zombie film, it is not just about gore, but also about family, love, and humanity. There is tension and conflict in every scene of the film, which keeps the audience engaged. Apart from the writing, the film also portrays emotions well, which gives the audience a chance to connect.

Talking about the music and sound design, both are very impressive in Train to Busan. Music plays an important role in the dangerous and suspenseful scenes of the film. The sudden sounds that occur during the zombie attack make the audience's heart beat faster.

The main messages of this film are humanity, family, and sacrifice. While trying to survive amidst the zombie attack, it also shows that at the right time one should help others without caring about one's own life. Apart from this, it also shows the importance of relationships and the value of family togetherness in times of crisis.

In my opinion, Train to Busan is a great zombie thriller. Every aspect of the film is well presented, be it suspense, action or emotion. However, the zombie attacks are shown a bit too much in some places, which could have been a little extra for the film. But if you are a fan of zombie films and want to watch something different, then this film is perfect.

This film is for those viewers who like zombies, thrillers and emotional dramas. If you want to watch something new and exciting, then this film can be a great option for you.

Overall, Train to Busan is a brilliant and interesting film, which will keep you scared and touch your heart at the same time. I give it 4.5 stars out of 5.
